Pilot Class: French-Italian Picnic
This is our debut class, a special pilot session offered at an cost-cover price as we perfect the Herbs & Sun experience.

What kind of cooking skills do I need to join?
Our classes are designed for all skill levels, from beginners to seasoned home cooks. We’ll guide you through every step, so you can enjoy the process regardless of your experience.
What types of dishes will we be cooking?
In each class, we’ll prepare a complementary menu: a starter or a dessert and a main course, using fresh, local ingredients. Each dish is crafted to be delicious, nutritious, and easy to recreate at home.
Are the classes vegan or vegetarian-friendly?
Most of our meals are plant-based, and we’re happy to offer swaps for animal products where possible. However, please note that some recipes may include animal products, which will be present and may be used by other participants in the class. We aim to create a welcoming environment for all dietary preferences, so feel free to let us know your preferences when you sign up.
What if I have food allergies or specific dietary restrictions?
When you sign up, you’ll be able to let us know about any dietary preferences and we’ll do our best to accommodate them in our recipes.
However, please be aware that:
Our classes take place in shared-use spaces (such as school Food Tech Rooms), where allergens may have been present before our arrival.
We cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or prevent all traces of allergens.
While we take care to minimise cross-contact (e.g. individual cooking stations, pre-portioned ingredients), we cannot accommodate severe or airborne allergies (including anaphylactic allergies to nuts, gluten, dairy, etc.).
All participants must complete our Allergy & Medical Information Form prior to attending a class.

The 14 major allergens which may be present in our recipes or in the kitchen include: celery, gluten-containing cereals, crustaceans, eggs, fish, lupin, milk, molluscs, mustard, nuts, peanuts, sesame, soya, sulphur dioxide/sulphites.

No, we’re not professional chefs! Herbs & Sun was born from our pure passion for cooking, fresh ingredients, and bringing people together over food. We’re self-taught food lovers excited to share the flavours, techniques, and joy we’ve discovered along the way. Our goal is to inspire you to explore cooking as a fun and creative outlet!
Is this a certified cooking class or course?
Herbs & Sun is all about creating a memorable experience and having a great time in the kitchen. Our classes are designed for enjoyment and connection, not as formal, certified courses. We’re here to offer a fun, hands-on way to explore new ingredients and flavors—no tests or certifications, just pure culinary joy!
Can I come on my own, or do I need to bring someone?
You’re welcome to come solo or book more spaces and bring a friend or partner! Our classes are a great way to meet new, like-minded people in a relaxed, friendly environment.
Is there a limit on class size?
Yes, we keep our class sizes small to ensure a personal, hands-on experience. This allows us to provide guidance and create a welcoming atmosphere for everyone.

What do I get to take home after the class?
You’ll leave with the food that you made, recipes for each dish, a list of recommended unprocessed ingredients, a “swap-this-for-that” grocery guide, and lots of great memories!

Just bring yourself and an eagerness to learn! We provide all the ingredients, tools, and aprons you’ll need for the session.
